Our History

In 1965, five entrepreneurial retail furniture and appliance stores in Western Canada formed a small buying group and headquarters were established in Saskatoon.

These stores agreed to buy together and exchange advertising, operating, and merchandising ideas. They realized that as chains, department stores, and larger volume retailers moved into their areas, they must group together to provide better prices and consumer benefits.

In the Fall of 1992, Magasins D’Ameublement B.V. Inc. and V.I.P. Stores Ltd. formed a partnership to create Mega Group to provide better services to each of its respective members. In 2000, both groups decided to fully integrate into one . . . Mega Group, creating the largest member owned group in Canada!

Today members are located in every province in Canada. Mega Group has grown from a single office to three, located in Saskatoon, Toronto, and Montreal, with a team of professionals to serve you in every aspect of your business.
