1. Why should I join Mega Group?
The Mega Selling Group’s reason for being is to make Canadian independent retailers stronger. We do this by helping you manufacture sales and increasing your bottom line. Time is money, and Mega Group offers a suite of services to support your operations and free up your time so that you can focus on the things that make your business unique. We establish important connections with the vendors in Appliances, Furniture, Bedding, and Electronics. See our Services page for more details on how.
-
2. What does it cost to join Mega Group?
There are no membership fees to join Mega Group. Membership grants you access to our Central Billing services, Business Support Programs and much more. To partner with our enhanced services such as marketing, merchandising programs and expert accounting, fees will apply based on your participation. Become a shareholder and share in the proceeds.
-
3. If I sign up with Mega, do I have access to your 450+ Vendors?
You can connect seamlessly with all the vendors in the Mega Selling Guide once you receive your Mega member number. There are no additional credit applications required. Our vendors set pricing, distribution, and exclusivities in different territories, but if they have product to sell, you will be ready to buy.
-
4. Do I get a different set of ‘Mega pricelists’ from my existing vendors if I join?
Once accepted as a Mega member, your relationship and pricelists with your vendor should not change. The only change is that the vendor now gets immediately and directly paid by Mega. This gives you the member the additional benefits of extended payment terms, or early pay discounts negotiated by Mega Group, as well as some select group volume rebates.
-
5. Do I have to process all my vendors through Mega’s Central Billing?
Mega offers 2 membership options – National Buying Associate (NBA) or Mega Group Inc. (shareholder). While one requirement of our shareholders is to process all vendors through Mega Group, NBA members are not required to process all their vendors through our Central Billing system.
-
6. There is already a Mega member in my town. Does that matter?
If someone in your town is already a Mega member, it only means they have discovered the many benefits of working with Canada’s #1 buying and selling group. You should, too! In fact, interacting with like-minded retailers and sharing best practices is one of the collaborative advantages of being a Mega member. There are geographical considerations for our BrandSource retail system group, but not for our affiliate members.
-
7. If I have a Mega website, how many digital catalogues do I get access to?
Mega Group’s 2nd key initiative, after Growing Revenue, is Digital Acceleration. We see immense value in offering an extended aisle on your website, which can attract new customers and close more sales. A variety of rich-content catalogues are available from most of our vendor partners and can be added effortlessly onto your website. Our list of vendor catalogues is updated constantly. Contact us for the latest information.

8. What is the real dollar savings of joining Mega Group?
There are several ways to measure savings when you join Mega Group. On everyday vendor payments, you can save 1-2% using early pay discounts or add cashflow of an extra 30 days to your payment schedule. Our free Business Support program can generate an average of $4,000 in savings per million in retail sales. On average, purchases using consumer-financed payments can almost double. Last, while this is impossible to quantify, Mega Group can save you time and give you added confidence in your business operations. Why go alone?
-
9. How does Mega make money if they don’t charge membership fees?
The core of Mega Group’s operations and revenue is centralized billing and payment processing for our vendor partners with a negotiated central billing contract. The balance of our revenue comes from the array of à-la-carte services members can access on a fee-for-service basis.

10. What is the difference between Mega Group and its competition?
The biggest thing that sets us apart is that Mega Group is member driven and 100% Canadian owned and operated. Our board members are retailers, as are our voting shareholders. Our key initiatives, leadership principles, pillars of success and key strengths are all member-led and developed. Mega is made up of like-minded retailers and vendors striving to grow their revenue and their profits, and the Mega co-op was formed to achieve these goals.
