The prestigious Mega Hall of Fame honour recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and contribution to Mega Group and its members over the years. Inductees are chosen from Mega Members, staff, or suppliers, and all will have clearly demonstrated the qualities of perseverance and drive necessary to create success in an ever-evolving retail world.

Demonstrating impeccable leadership during his distinguished tenure as a Mega board Chairman, Wayne Hambly has played a pivotal role in shaping our collective success and growth and is our 2024 Hall of Fame Inductee. As a respected figure in the community and former owner of Hambly’s BrandSource Home Furnishings in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Wayne’s dedication to our mission and values has been unwavering, making him a true asset to our organization.  Wayne sat as Chairman of the Board for over a decade at a time when he saw Mega through many challenges, changes and achievements. Wayne’s enduring leadership played a pivotal role on Mega’s road to success.

Former long-time Mega Group CEO Benoit Simard will also be inducted in the Builders Category. Benoit’s contribution to Mega started as a store owner in Rivière-du-Loup, Québec and evolved progressively with Benoit joining the Mega team in various capacities, all the way up to the position of CEO, which he held for 15 years.  Benoit’s contribution to Mega has left an indelible mark on our organization’s history and the impact of his legacy is compelling.

The induction ceremony will take place during Mega Group’s National Convention at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, June 14th and 15th, 2024, offering a unique opportunity for members, vendors, and industry professionals to come together and celebrate the achievements of these outstanding individuals.

“We are thrilled to honour Wayne Hambly and Benoit Simard for their exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication to Mega Group,” said Mega Group CEO Chris West. “Their impact on our community and industry is truly something to celebrate, and we look forward to honouring them at POWER UP 2024.”

About the Mega Hall of Fame

Launched in 2022, the Mega Hall of Fame honours the most influential and most significant contributors to the success of Mega and its members. Each year the Hall of Fame Committee honours inductees who have earned the right to join the Hall of Fame by virtue of the impact of their achievements on Mega, its members, and the home goods industry.

Inductees into the prestigious Hall of Fame share many qualities.  They have been dedicated and committed to the success of Mega and its members through their years of effort, contributions, and stewardship.  They are innovators who challenge the status quo and have shown courage to try new ideas and push the boundaries of performance both in their business and for the benefit of the Mega family. Their unselfish motivation is for the betterment of independent retailers, and they have proven that as role models and through their servant leadership.
